Knowledge Sharing – Presentation at the Indigenous Health Conference
December 2020
In late 2019, Mamow Ahyamowen prepared and submitted an abstract to present the results from the recent mortality analysis at the University of Toronto Indigenous Health Conference. The conference was scheduled for May 2020 and was going to be held in Niagara Falls (Onguiaahra), Ontario. Due to the pandemic, organizers postponed the conference to December 2020 and shifted delivery to a digital format.

At the in-person meeting in Thunder Bay, the group highlighted the importance of strengthening capacity initiatives for the partnership. To address this need, Mamow Ahyamowen collaborated with ICES to provide the Indigenous Health Data Training Program.

Maureen Gustafson recently joined Jen Walker’s team at Laurentian University as a Knowledge Translation and Exchange (KTE) Specialist.
Maureen will work with the partnership to take the data from the upcoming analyses and present them in meaningful ways to our partners and communities.
