Team Building and Conference

Mamow Ahyamowen Support Staff attended the Maamwizing Indigenous Research Conference on November 19 and 20, 2022 held at Laurentian University – the conference’s theme was “Land and Language Back, Baby!“. It included interactive sessions from dynamic speakers, including keynote addresses from Dr. Deborah McGregor, Joseph Pitawanakwat, Dr. Celeste Pedri-Spade, and Dr. Noelani Arista. It also included a Youth Panel and an Elders Panel with Elders Shirley Williams, Leland Bell, and Martina Osawamick.

Support Staff kicked off the two-day event with a team-building day, which allowed the group to come together in person, learn from one another, and build stronger relationships.
