Progress Update – Summer 2022

August 2022

The Steering Committee continues to manage the various priorities brought forward by the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it is also looking ahead to a post-pandemic environment. Below are some of the items that Mamow Ahyamowen has been working on:

  • As Partners re-visit pre-pandemic priorities, Mamow Ahyamowen was able to provide some knowledge-sharing activities both in-person and online in the summer of 2022.
  • The community opt-in process for our upcoming analyses on mental health and addictions, injuries, and chronic diseases is complete. 70 out of 78 communities chose to participate, and we are hopeful to start the first analysis in autumn 2022.
  • The Indigenous Health Data Training Program ended in early April. Participants gained a greater understanding of the research request process with ICES and furthered their knowledge in the Deeper Dive Sessions. Special thank you to ICES and the presenters who provided their knowledge and expertise for the sessions.
