Welcome Yantao

November 2021

Yantao Zhao is a Data Analyst and comes to Mamow Ahyamowen with a wealth of knowledge and expertise. She joined Jen Walker’s Indigenous health research team and, through partnerships, worked on a wide variety of data-related projects.

Before her maternity leave, Yantao worked with the WAHA Minomathasowin Public Health Program on several projects, including their Mental Health and Addictions analysis and their daily COVID-19 reporting. 

She supported the first Mamow Ahyamowen analysis and contributed to other community research projects, such as the evaluation of the Naandwe Noojimowin Program. Yantao previously worked at Health Sciences North as a Data Analyst and later as a Data Specialist in the Epidemiology Department and Ambulatory Care Clinics. She has experience working with administrative health data, clinical study data and program evaluation. She graduated from Peking Union Medical College, Tsinghua University, with an MSc degree in Epidemiology and Health Statistics. Yantao enjoys learning about Indigenous culture and language while working on different projects. She has two little girls and is looking forward to supporting Mamow Ahyamowen in future data initiatives.
