Progress Update – Summer 2026
August 2026

There’s been no shortage of activity at Mamow Ahyamowen so far this year. With summer flying by, we’re taking a moment to share a few more updates on what we’ve been up to over the past few months.
- Our Chronic Conditions Report is almost ready for release! The report explores the prevalence and incidence of key chronic conditions among First Nations community members. We’re completing the final touches and getting everything ready to share with Mamow Ahyamowen organizations and communities. Stay tuned for more information about the report and its upcoming release!
- We reconnected with the Tui’kn Partnership in Nova Scotia to exchange experiences, share lessons learned, and learn from each other’s work.
- We joined ICES to co-present as part of the Osgoode Certificate in Privacy Law and Information Management in Healthcare. The session offered an opportunity to share how Indigenous Data Sovereignty principles shape our work and how OCAP® helps guide the protection and respectful use of community and organizational data.
- Our health services use analysis continues to move forward: We’re working through the data to better understand how community members access and use health services.
- Privacy Q&As will be back this fall! After running through till June, our Privacy Q&A sessions with David Morgan are on pause for the summer and will return in September. These informal drop-in sessions provide a space for people from organizations and communities to bring forward questions, explore privacy-related topics, and learn from one another. We’re also exploring the idea of expanding these sessions into a Privacy and AI Community of Practice.
