Sharing Our Work with Ontario Health North

June 2025

Mamow Ahyamowen was invited to present the work of the Alliance to partners at Ontario Health North. This was a valuable opportunity to share who we are, what we do, and how we can strengthen our shared commitment to advancing First Nation health justice and Data Sovereignty across the North.

This presentation offered a snapshot of our journey so far, including key findings from our mortality analysis and reflections on how the work of the Alliance is supporting communities and organizations in using data for planning, advocacy, and decision-making.

We also shared a look ahead at the Alliance’s upcoming culturally grounded initiatives to improve health outcomes in First Nations across northern Ontario.

We are grateful to Ontario Health North for creating space for us to present at their meeting. Moments like this reaffirm the value of collaboration and the importance of working together to ensure that data is not only accessible, but actionable—by and for communities.
